Je m’appelle Adeline Guilhen.
Je suis née à Paris le 18 septembre 1963, et j’y ai vécu jusqu’au mois de mars 2020.
Ceux qui me connaissent savent que j’ai le cœur à l’ouest, et maintenant que je ne suis plus en train de regarder la Tour Eiffel dans les yeux, c’est l’île de Jersey que je contemple. J’ai quitté Paris lors du premier confinement pour me réfugier dans une petite maison au bord de la mer, au bout du monde, là-bas dans le Cotentin. J’y suis toujours.
J’ai rencontré la médiation au commencement des années 2000.
À vingt ans, je vivais pour le théâtre.
À trente ans, j’étais attachée de presse pour une maison d’édition.
À trente-cinq, j’accompagnais des projets de développement hôteliers internationaux.
À quarante ans, j’étais devenue médiatrice.
Tout a commencé par un procès, dans le cadre de mon activité professionnelle. Un procès international, interminable, indémêlable. Jusqu’à ce que le mot « médiation » soit prononcé.
J’aurais pu dire aussi : tout a commencé par un livre de pédagogie et quelques pages passionnantes sur l’écoute active. En tout cas, en 2002, je me lance. Premières formations, premières médiations. Je suis certifiée par l’IMI International Mediation Institute et ne cesse de me former depuis, de l’école de Droit de Harvard aux ateliers de Gary Friedman.

Et surtout, dès 2002, je crée MediationStudio. Une association d’entraînement à la médiation par jeux de rôles, un terrain d’échanges, de rencontres et de débats passionnants, qui a réuni jusqu’à 50 médiateurs francophones pendant 10 ans.
Aujourd’hui, MediationStudio renaît, et la communauté s’agrandit. C’est toujours un terrain de d’échanges, de rencontres et de débats passionnants, mais cette fois, pour les Médiateurs Inspirés du monde entier. Car il y a un fil rouge, bien-sûr, du théâtre jusqu’à cette page. Un fil rouge ou un point d’interrogation : les gens, leur histoire, leurs mots. Ce qu’ils disent ou taisent, ce qu’ils entendent ou n’entendent pas, ce qui les lie ou les éloigne.

My name is Adeline Guilhen.
I used to be a real Parisienne from my birth in the French capital on September 18, 1963… until the first lockdown in March 2020. Those who know me well knew that my heart inclines westwards. Now that the Eiffel Tower is not reflected in my eyes anymore, a small beach cottage in Normandy is my decor with the Channel islands on the horizon.
Introduction to mediation in the early 2000’s
At 20 the stage was my life.
At 30 I worked in PR for a publishing house.
At 35 I was involved in worldwide hospitality project support.
At 40 I had become a mediator.
A legal battle started it all. A seemingly endless and inextricable international lawsuit. Until the word ‘mediation’ was spoken.
I could also say that some fascinating reading on the subject of active listening got me hooked. Anyway, I took the big step in 2002. The first training sessions and mediations followed. I went on training intensively, from Harvard Law School to Gary Friedman’s workshops, and became IMI certified.
ABOUT MEDIATIONSTUDIO
MediationStudio was set up in 2002 as an association for mediation training through role-playing. It grew into a bustling collaborative playground and meeting place. In the course of an 8 year period, up to fifty French mediators have been passionately interacting, debating and improving their skills at the same time.
MediationStudio is now being reborn, for the benefit of an enlarged community. It is as a bustling collaborative playground and meeting place for passionate debates as ever. The difference is that all inspired mediators from around the world are welcome. There is an obvious common thread between acting and what I write here, a common thread shaped as question marks: What stories do people chose to tell or to keep unspoken? What can they hear or close their ears to? What brings them nearer to each other or divides them?
